Tomasz Nowakowski, Ph.D.

Associate Professor, University of California, San Francisco

SFARI Investigator, SFARI Scientific Review Board Website

The central goal of Tomasz Nowakowski’s research is to understand how the human genome reproducibly generates the diverse phenotypes of pyramidal cells according to an inherited developmental program and how genomic abnormalities impact these developmental processes and underlie the etiology of neurodevelopmental disorders. Nowakowski is especially interested in combining medical genetics and genome biology predictions of disease risk variants with functional annotations of cell identity to uncover cellular convergence of disease risk factors in autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
