Opal Ousley is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Emory Autism Center where she works on the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders, the development of autism-specific behavioral assessments (e.g., the Screening Tool for Two-Year-Olds, and Rapid-ABC Screener), and the phenotypic characterization of children with autism and associated genetic disorders, including 22q11 deletion syndrome.

Ousley collaborates with faculty across disciplines (e.g., Genetics, Neuroimaging, and Computing) at Emory University, Georgia Tech, and the University of Georgia. She also participated in the Simons Simplex Collection, a multiple-site study which investigates the genetic causes of autism, serving as the phenotypic Principal Investigator at the Emory data collection site.
