Alex Kwan is an assistant professor of psychiatry and neuroscience at Yale University. He received a B.AS. in engineering physics from Simon Fraser University and a Ph.D. in applied physics from Cornell University. He did postdoctoral work at the University of California, Berkeley before joining Yale in 2013.

Research in the Kwan lab focuses on the role of the medial frontal cortex in decision-making and neuropsychiatric disorders. The laboratory’s expertise lies in developing and applying optical methods to record and control neural activity in behaving mice.
