More than funding: Career development opportunities abound for Bridge to Independence fellows

The Bridge to Independence Award program serves as an overall scientific support system to help early-career scientists successfully launch their independent research positions. Fellows receive a commitment of $495,000 over three years, activated upon assumption of a tenure-track professorship, as well as a designated $10,000 gift for professional development activities to be spent during the transition year.

Autism BrainNet to digitize the Autism Celloidin Library of postmortem brains

Autism BrainNet is working to digitize the Autism Celloidin Library, a unique collection of 28 celloidin-embedded, Nissl-stained brains from donors with and without autism spectrum disorder. The collection provides a unique resource for histological studies aimed at quantifying and characterizing changes in cell distribution, size and regional structure. Digitized images will be available to interested researchers upon request.
