Gaspar Taroncher-Oldenburg is a microbiologist and translational scientist with extensive experience in establishing and leading multidisciplinary teams to advance innovation in complex areas such as microarray technologies, diabetes and the microbiome. Taroncher-Oldenburg received a Ph.D. in applied ocean science and engineering from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution/MIT Joint Program. He has extensive experience in entrepreneurship, scientific publishing and open innovation, and is currently an independent consultant and business advisor to a range of organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, pharma companies, biotech start-ups, incubators and foundations, where he consults on scientific strategy, business and organizational development and open innovation. Since 2020, Taroncher-Oldenburg has also acted as a SFARI consultant-in-residence, leading an effort to better understand the role of the microbiome in autism spectrum disorder.
