Carolyn Sayre is a medical journalist who has covered everything from diabetes and nuclear fusion to animal prosthetics and her husband’s beard. She was formerly the head reporter for the Briefing Section at TIME Magazine and head interviewer for the “10 Questions” Column. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, US News & World Report, TIME Magazine, Redbook, Health.com and WebMD. She has appeared for guest spots on CNN, Inside Edition and NPR.
On February 22, 2018, SFARI organized a workshop on the uses of digital tools for phenotyping cognition and behavior in brain disorders. Goals of the workshop included learning more about technologies that can reproducibly and accurately measure autism-relevant behaviors and discussing how the tens of thousands of participants recruited through SPARK can help to collect data on and phenotype autism behaviors at scale.
