Kris Dickson is a freelance science writer and editor. Prior to becoming a freelancer, she was the deputy editor of the journal Neuron. Before becoming an editor, Dickson ran her own independent research at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on local protein synthesis in neurons and on molecular mechanisms of fragile X syndrome. Dickson received her Ph.D. in biochemistry with Marvin Wickens at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and did postdoctoral training in molecular neuroscience with Seth Grant at the University of Edinburgh.
