Matthias Stadtfeld is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York. He received his Ph.D. from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for work on developmental hematopoiesis and conducted his postdoctoral training on cellular reprogramming at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. He is an expert in the derivation and genetic engineering of pluripotent stem cells and has made important contributions to the field of induced pluripotency.
The main goal of his lab is to develop novel therapeutic approaches for human developmental syndromes by identifying novel epigenetic mechanisms that control gene expression in disease-relevant cell populations.
