Marc Freeman is the director of the Vollum Institute at Oregon Health and Science University. Freeman’s laboratory is exploring fundamental aspects of glial cell biology and glial-neuronal interactions in health and neurological disorders. Using the fruit fly Drosophila as a model system, Freeman is interested in understanding the roles played by glial cells in neural circuit assembly, circuit function, neural plasticity and behavior.
