SFARI gathered together some 250 current and prospective autism researchers for a social on November 17 at the Society for Neuroscience’s 2014 annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

On 2 September, we plan to announce a new request for applications. Letters of intent, the short statements that precede full applications, are due no later than 10 October. It seems timely, therefore, to describe how we make decisions on research proposals.

On 12 and 13 June, the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI) held its second workshop on 16p11.2 deletion and duplication. A total of 62 participants from across the U.S. and Europe attended the meeting.
