Geoffrey Goodhill, Ph.D.

Professor, The University of Queensland

SFARI Investigator Website

Geoffrey Goodhill originally studied mathematics, physics, artificial intelligence and cognitive science in the United Kingdom, before moving to the United States and completing postdoctoral studies in computational neuroscience. After becoming a tenured professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Georgetown University Medical Center, he moved to The University of Queensland, where he holds a joint appointment between the Queensland Brain Institute and the School of Mathematics and Physics.

His group studies the computational principles underlying brain development, particularly how growing nerve fibers are guided to their targets, how neural coding develops and how genetic and environmental factors interact to determine adult brain wiring and function.
