Dennis Vasquez Montes joined the Simons Foundation in the summer of 2019 as a member of the SFARI Data and Analytics team. Montes works alongside his team to support and design multiple dashboards offering tools for summarizing and connecting data from the SFARI cohorts including SPARK (Simons Powering Autism Research), Simons Searchlight, Simons Simplex Collection (SSC) and Autism BrainNet. The data included in these dashboards allow for customizable automated and manual reporting on SFARI data requests, biospecimens, publications and utilization of other SFARI resources. His responsibilities also include automated publication and related metadata search, supporting internal data requests about SFARI cohorts and research projects about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis confirmation.

Before starting this position, Montes was a data analyst in the New York University (NYU) Langone Health’s Spine Research Center, a research center focused on exploring the incidence and prediction of diseases pertaining to orthopedic spine surgery. At the Spine Research Center, he was responsible for statistical analysis of clinical data, database administration and educating a small research team in statistical and machine learning methods on a yearly basis. Montes has an M.S. in industrial engineering from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
