Anne Holden joined the Simons Foundation in July 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of simonsfoundation.org and sfari.org. Prior to that, she served as Communications Manager at Columbia University’s Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, where she managed the Institute’s website, editorial calendar, social media and media relations. Holden has more than a decade’s experience as a science writer, editor and communicator. Prior to coming to New York, she lived in San Francisco and held a variety of science communications positions in academia, the nonprofit sector and biotech. These include the Gladstone Institutes at the University of California at San Francisco, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine and 23andMe. Holden holds a Ph.D. in biological anthropology (with an emphasis in human evolutionary genetics) from the University of Cambridge, and a B.A. (with Honors, cum laude) in Anthropology from the University of Missouri.
